ðĐââĪâðâðĐ2ïļâĢ Another favorite, Hoagies!  . It is Hoagie Day , promoting a sandwich which is also known as a grinder, sub or hero. You can also order a poâboy, torpedo or an Italian sandwich to celebrate! The hoagie consists of meats, cheeses, vegetables, sauces and seasonings on a long roll of Italian or French bread. It is only limited by what is popular where you are. A great lunch, something for a party a sporting event, or just what ever . Are you a "Hoagie" aficionado? Do you have a favorite? Most importantly, do you make them and or eat them? What is the best to you?           |

Here in southern Maine they are Amato's Italians. They get bread daily from Botto's bakery ( another local institution). You can put just about anything in one of these rolls and get 100 virgin olive oil on it or on the side. The pickles are to "die for" I like mine with mayo and then diced tomato, shredded romaine,capicola,Genoa salami,mozzarella, provolone,diced black olives, and pickle slices I hear lunch calling me.
