Diamonds in the rough

(blog talculhere4u)

There are old sayings that are so true, regarding people on here especially.
"you can't judge a book by it's cover", "what you see is what you get"

I've admittedly looked at many, many profiles and have always read what they've written, regardless of the fact that the profile picture caught my eye. One thing is definitely true about the population on here. We are all really completely different. I haven't chatted with anyone who I thought was just like someone else. Ever. I do, however, think that many people, based on profile and pics, are not always what they appear to be. Somtimes they're better to chat with, sometimes very difficult.

You find a profile with very nice pics and a very long explanantion of what they want, down to every single detail, then you start a chat with them. On one occasion, I got to chat with the male of the couple when it was kind of obvious that the woman wrote the profile. He had not much to say and the conversation was pretty short.

Then you get a profile with maybe a couple of pics, or none, and a very short profile explanantion. You start a conversation and you're very surprised at how pleasant it is to chat with them and they have a great sense of humor.

It almost seems that the very long, long profiles with every nuance covered in its entirety, ends up being the people who don't have a lot to say. Did they "leave it all on the field" in there explanantion or just not very good spontaneous chatters? Not sure.

All I know is that profiles and pics don't really show you what kind of people they are until you chat. That's when you find out if those people are interesting, boring, demanding, easy-going, or just an absolute blast to talk to.

I like chatting with people, god or bad, because you never know what you're going to get. It's a crapshoot. And now, I will go say hi to someone.
