Great blog hun and I also share this information, in a lot of my responses on my blog comments. And a lot of people have taken the information and made themselves a private email box on their blogs. I hope everyone reads this so they can enjoy some free private messages as well..

I'm all for better communication regarding the blogging aspect on the site.

I don't share your optimism as the site spirals ever downwards. Certain women turned this into an angry venting place with a mental blog war a few years ago, hysterical PC snowflake woke fucktards and the damage was terminal. Allied to the site driving out standard members (truth is, we won't be bullied into buying or repurchasing gold), not even private email box instructions will reverse the decline I should msg you on kik more often frankly

I think it is good to allow non-paid members because it adds to the variety of people, especially in the blogs. I think at some point guys would get a free month or something if they posted on the blogs and interacted in the groups. I appreciate the community aspect, but for men who are actually wanting to meet me, I only accept paid members. For various reasons including safety. A serial killer might find it easier to not have a credit card payment traced to their profile, for example. That's an extreme case. But I also want men who are not cheap and are serious about being here. Clearly, even while being paying members, most men who write are not willing to invest enough time to send a decent message. So for the environment in the community aspects of the site, I would prefer to have free members interact. Otherwise, a.ff isn't a charity and they are here to make money.

The idea of a 'private blog box' is good but unfortunately a bit limited. The limitation is that only a very small percentage of the membership (gold or standard) here actually post (blogs or replies) - when I spoke to Support about that it is less then 5% . A partial "fix" to that is to direct people to your "box" via your profile. In other words place a link to your blog or your box. Something like 'to contact me please see . . .' Unfortunately this will only work with gold members and given that they too are effected by this change I'm guessing some gold members will bail out on the site. One thing I am considering is to direct women to my profile on PoF. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I've had a couple of bloggers leave me a very nice message on my private blog but I don't expect this method of communication to extend beyond that. The intention was if some female was browsing profiles but didn't have the crown in order they could message me, I'd have hoped they would find my blog and leave a message there. But I doubt that would happen. Once they remove access for standard members to the chat rooms and/or blogs, then I'll pack up my things and go. I wonder if Senior Friend Finder has the same restrictions.

Though, if I understand correctly, the blogs cannot be accessed by cell phones, tablets, or otherwise Android devices - which a lot of people use to access the website. I'm not sure about Mac devices though. Redrockrascal, how is this change effecting gold members? Other than non-paying standard members not being present in the IM chat, to chat with? Is there anything else I am not aware of yet?

I'd be more than happy to post the instructions if I thought it would do any good. Most people access the site on their mobile device and you can't see the blogs that way. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

Lala, I'm using a Mac laptop and Firefox to access this website, including the blogs. I can't say anything about success using iDevices since I don't have an iPad or iPhone. Maybe someone else can weigh in.

Good discussion, The bean counters are working over time to try to make payroll for the site. I think I made a statement several months ago about putting the main text of the blog as a comment and I found it worked well.. I also say again that the blog as we know it, will change , the 5% will begin to be taxed for their use.. not sure what charges will come about but it is just one of the things left untaxed here.. In all the years of my participation , I have never been able to get any free gold, always had to pay but In the last two years I did get gold for $4 a month.. Paid at $48 per year, Not to bad, still cheap entertainment.. expect to have less and pay more, the Affair*link ( a.f.f) way of the future. Also, soon a Big Mack will be on sale for $9.99, The Whopper at Burger King will be $8.99. just the way things are headed.. Lala, keep up the good work... Stop by at lonlyforlove2 also see Lunch with Lonly , we get snow tomorrow Check my blog on New Community, "A photo of my big Pecker" also, " My Sunday afternoon with the kids'

I just lost my crown and am considering an icebreaker but really don't think one that says "Hi, you've just thrown your money away! This site is shit and most of the female members are bot profiles" is going to fly very long. Honestly, nowadays I don't WANT to be contacted by anyone but fellow bloggers!

There for a second I thought this would be your shortest post ever, but I see what you did! I've been mentioning my private blog in my emails for some time, but that ASSumes the emails even get read, and now it seems that is problematic too. Lala Please keep spreading the word. I appreciate your efforts on informing us std members and anyone else that wants to try and connect with friends. IM is seemingly useless by many people And without knowing what options people are using for browsing etc it will be hard to see waht is happeniong

So... I did it. Now I have my crown back and a nice icebreaker that supposedly only goes out to 50 year old slim/petite single straight white men living within 5 miles of my location. It says something along the lines of "Welcome to the collection of sites managed by Various, Inc., including but not limited to Passion, AYFF, GayFF, SeniorFF and others. Do Not Reply, this is an unmonitored mailbox." They approved it.
