We'd take our clothes off, run into the backyard and make snow angels. It was a blast and cold and quite funny... Especially when we locked Bob and Nancy outside so the neighbours could get a gander at them. 😶 Oh.... This Christmas Day I'll be at my niece's house with her family. It's a break in the tradition of usually spending the day at one of my three sister's houses.

That's a great tradition. It reminds me of the days when my friends and I rented the rink at 4AM. The rink had a roof but the sides were open. In the dead of winter it made for some cold nights.

Hi Joy thanks for taking me further with Christmas traditions I did, however, wince at the thought that Canadian moms had to bear children with skates on the thoughts left scars on my naive minde just sayin' but, alas, those christmas traditions are wonderful it seems like in the frozen Tundra, parent down here in "God's Country" get busy making kids during Feb, Mar, Apr my birthday and many relatives are in the Nov and Dec time frames, similar to your Jan birthday, so, there are a lot of xmas birthday parties happening that have created new traditions i love birthdays and women in their birthday suits made me think of this Zero 7 - "Destiny" I lie awake, I've gone to ground I'm watchin' porn In my hotel dressing gown Now I dream of you but I still believe There's only enough for one in this lonely hotel suite The journey's long and it feels so bad I'm thinkin' back to the last day we had Old moon fades into the new Soon I know I'll be back with you I'm nearly with you, I'm nearly with you When I'm weak, I draw strength from you And when you're lost, I know how to change your mood And when I'm down, you breathe life over me Even though we're miles apart, we are each other's destiny To leave private messages, please use my confidential mailbox at my blog: Good luck!!!

As kids in the 60 we would go to the local parks (two) with ponds and skate all day and even at night. With friends and stranger alike. Till one day the ice was to thin some fell in. That ended that. The plows back then never clean the roads so we'll f we where lucky they live over so we skated on them out in from of our home. My Brother (RIP) first house was on a big lake so Christmas was there we laces up skated and skated called in for dinner. Next morning we set tip up for ice fishing and skated around each on waiting for the flag to go up. We race around he being 14 year my elder I could not catch him but u did pass my to sister older then I. Not long ago I let the dogs out to pee in my own back yard I was walking and sliding on top of the snow. Went down stairs lace up a pair no room to spair my feet squeezed in walk out side and start to glide around and around my big old tree all I can here is my wife laughter at me . Staking bring the kid out of every one I like up North with many big lakes I have yet to see one person lase up skates mine don't fit but hang on the wall to remind me of all the fun I had even with the falls. Maybe it time to get a new pair -5 the ice will be here.
