Much of human behavior is absurd. In addition to *biological imperatives*, Freud concluded that we are also governed by a *pleasure principle*. In the case of sexy-time, I believe the biological imperatives of *reproduction* and *quality-of-life seeking* are lesser motivations than the psychological-physiological pleasure feedback loop that sex stimulates. For the same reasons we eat an entire bag of M&M's in one sitting, we mostly pursue sex because we want to.
