it's funny (not in a ha ha way) you mention guys underwear, lady_jayne. i don't experience any frustration problems with the lady bits BUT i do own and wear a couple pairs of JOE BOXER briefs. i noticed they seemed to be made of a sturdier cotton which i actually like. and from time to time i will wear them. plus, g'dammit they are comfortable too.

Quite a few of my kids friends wear men's boxers as jammies so I'd say so long as they weren't a cotton /poly blend, go for it!

Womens cotton panties are good and comfortable. Not sexy but who cares when you need some healing.

I never sleep in panties, or anything. Lots of breathing that way.

I never sleep in panties unless I have a monthly visitor. That's my time to just let it breathe. As a matter of fact, once I am in for the day/night, the panties comes off with the bra. I used to get regular disturbances with my lady goods also. Since I used to run a lot, my doc told me not to wear my panties (cotton) AND spandex at the same time. So I loaded up on spandex to wear under my shorts. Helped a whole lot. I haven't had any problems in almost 5 yrs, but I also went without sex 4 of those 5 yrs...
