What would motivate someone to mention the site at the time you first encounter the person offline? I don't think it necessary to do so just to say hello. After all, you're just two people in the store, park, etc. and no different from anyone else at that point.

I could strike up a conversation with them, and IF the opportunity presented itself later--say on the phone or a date--then I might mention it.

Err on the side of caution and do not mention the site!! You may leave them with some pestiferous co-shopper who will want to know what who and where. It's how I conduct my private life outside the medical profession- confidentiality has to be foremost. Hello is simple and easy

We've found that some people are very, very guarded about this site. Almost as if it's embarrassing having an association with this. Because you don't know this person, it's a stranger after all, there are plenty of things to strike up a conversation about instead of "hey, I saw you on Meelp .... I'm there too!"

Totally agree and no need to bring the site up at all in public.Message them when you get home and mention it.I have had that happen a few times from men who have seen me out and about in town here...

One can never have enough JOY in their life...
