Very well written staffychick! I am both a break upper and a break uppee. Truth be told I have been blessed and cursed with many relationships over the years. Some very deep and many very shallow (read one night stands) and the breaking up process is never fun. For additional information you can review my blog called Into The Woods (erotic tales) in which I have chronicled many relationships that I have experienced over the decades. Yes some stories are fictional but many are true histories as well. The postings are for entertainment only. My version of therapy is to write. Check it out if you like. Jimmy B. My blog JimmyB7474 is called Into The Woods (erotica) entertaining stories about a guy named Jimmy. Enjoy.

Interesting. May I suggest that it is you as well as me? Look, no relationship exists in a vacuum. No relationship is one sided. It might be mostly about me ( that is, I really believe I am bad for your future happiness ), but to make it exclusively about me is misleading. If I am unhappy in the relationship, then it is because: 1. The relationship is not fulfilling some need or expectation. 2. My S.O. is not fulfilling a need or expectation. 3. My S.O. really isn't significant to my happiness. Or, some combination thereof. This does not absolve me of responsibility. My unfulfilled need or expectation may be completely unrealistic or ridiculous. Or I may have completely failed to express it as a need or expectation. Or I believe someone else may be better at fulfilling my need or expectation. Or I could be a selfish prick and this is all a big game. Or a dozen other reasons. All of which directly interact with each other and all the reasons why you are blind-sided by them. Which is why "it's not you, it's me" sounds so hollow.
