The thing about online conversation is this.Its not real.I mean who are you talking to??You just don't know.If someone doesn't respond to a message I think they are no longer interested or maybe I dodged a bullet. Maybe the guy who deactivated his profile was in a relationship.

The same. Talking with someone and suddenly account is deactivated. I think to myself good thing we never exchanged numbers. But at the same time I'm thinking why did you even bother. It makes no sense. But not much around here does make sense. Except for the few that I know are real, live, and will snail mail with me, text, call, email. There are some who are cool like that.

Hey... it's the internet... you hang your "Open" sign on your door... you're going to get attention... maybe ring-and-run, maybe bags of shit, or maybe decent people. Any of us who don't like this environment, can always take leave.

I had a slightly different experience... She (gold) initiated contact and I responded. As a standard member, I had to use some of my points to IM her. I thought we had a good chat (both very respectful, we did not engage in any sexual conversation whatsoever) and all of a sudden she told me give me two minutes... And that was the last I heard from her. She did not reply to my messages later on that day. I can understand if for whatever reason she did not want to continue with the chat. But at least say something, or even an excuse that you are tired or you are busy or whatever. Not give me two minutes and then stop talking. At least respect the fact that you initiated a chat with a standard member who used points to reply to you. As we all know lately , points do not grow up in trees for standard members.

When you get a message that someone’s account is deactivated, it’s usually been a deliberate decision on their part. For some, this place is like a buffet with too many choices...they can get a taste (chat/message) and then move on to the next, thinking they will find a better option. Until things move offline, it’s just friendly banter while you share the same space.

Early on in my tenure here I had long intense exchanges with a few different people who then ghosted me. That hurt, but I will say it lowered my expectations and nothing really surprises me now. The guys who chat with you and then their account is deactivated two days after it was created? Likely their wife was away from home for a few days and they took the opportunity to walk on the wild side by joining a sex site, lol.

....and like everything electronic..... timing is everything.... sometime it's an active chat.... sometimes it's just a note to say hi... where distance is involved most interactions are casual adult friendships where there are no expectations.... that being said, one can still have some fun dialogues with other folks.... and maybe for the lucky ones out of the smoke comes fire....in a good way of course.....

It shouldn't really go any further than the attention and in the rare case that it does. we're quickly reminded that ruining it for everyone else isn't gender specific! Using more than all the road!
