 i am not Mac user, so i don't know if i can help you, but what they are doing especially when you use the external cam?

 again, sorry i don't know about mac, but when you hit the broadcast button, the site should ask you permission for adobe flash...then you must hit, allow for the permission. if we don't, the cam won't load...that's how it works on my windows 10.

 my guess is that, maybe your mac is preventing from flash to run? i know mac is big on the security issue, and flash player is not the safest thing to run...in fact, i bet you, apple probably wants to use HTML5...but alas, this ol' site ain't gonna upgrade soon...so, i think something to do with flash plug in...i would check sarafi's preference about website, and see if flash plug in is enabled?
