Real or not?

Does anyone actually look to meet on here anymore? When I first joined many years ago, it seemed most men and quite a good few women joined with meeting a real option. This doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I met a few at the beginning but been let down a few times since. Anyone's thoughts on this.

 I've had a couple of no shows. And so many I've chatted to on IM just disappear or delete their account. One no show, the lady hounded me to meet her for months, and then didn't show up. So frustrating after all she said.
