First and foremost, grab a beverage, because this read is extensive. I respectfully think the reason(s) of your misunderstanding is due to the (mostly) fictional perception put on it's members here, which is designed to intentionally mislead members. This site is a business, nothing more. It's only existence and care is to generate profit. Continue on... You: "The site's banner says, "Hookup, Find Sex or Meet Someone Hot Now". That's a marketing strategy. Again, it's design is purely to lure you into this site by temptation to pay (for membership dues and tips) in hope to find exactly that...someone to "hook up with, find sex or meet someone hot AND now". Reality: Very few real women exist here and those that do usually are just on this site to use for social media purposes OR they're generally NOT hot OR they are VERY selective if they indeed are searching for someone. Again, you're taking the bait and running with the marketing gimmicks and not reality. You: "So why is it I'm getting viewed, hot listed and flirted with from all these women looking for a serious relationship, soulmate or marriage?". As I have said earlier, this site is nothing but a profit generating machine, nothing more. You're getting 'viewed' from all these women because (chances are) that these aren't real and legitimate women to begin with, but rather paid fakes/fake profiles/bots/scams and other lies and gimmicks put in place to create the illusion that women are interested in you, viewing you, hotlisting you and flirting with you in order to keep the money machine all running smoothly by you emptying your wallet into the site's pockets and keeping them rich off of nothing more than lies, scams, marketing and gimmicks. I'm generalizing....there are some genuine women on the site, but again, very few are actually here in some enthusiastic attempt to go out of our way to scout for men, add them, flirt with them, hook up/meet, have sex, form friendships, etc... . It's generally one enormous lie. You: "So why is it I'm getting viewed, hot listed and flirted with from all these women looking for a serious relationship, soulmate or marriage? Why in the world would anyone sign up on a sex site looking for marriage or a soulmate? Have people become that desperate or that stupid? isn't there plenty of regular dating sites and dating phone apps fill that need? Why advertise yourself on a site primarily for adults meet adults for adult activities?" That's where you are very misled and mistaken. We're not stupid or naive. You're just not understanding what this site REALLY is. Again, you've read too deeply into the marketing banner and believed it, yet you seemingly spent no time researching what this site actually REALLY is per it's corporate page. According to this site's corporate page, this site is a multi-purpose site, which is designed for BOTH online AND offline purposes. It is designed for people who come here for adult-based personal site reasons and adult-based social media/social networking reasons. That's defined as such: * Adult-based personals reasons (with some intent of offline in-person meetups): This includes: friendships, love, dating, romance and every form of sex and fetishes that are imaginable. * Adult-based social media/social networking reasons (online intent): This includes: Socializing (email/IM/chat rooms), web camming, blogging (such as what you are on here now doing), groups, blinging, erotic stories, photo contests, adult videos/magazines sections, the 'What's Hot' section, the 'Sex Academy' section, etc... . Long story short....there is nothing about this site which is solely designed for one and only one thing, as you're misled to believe it's only for the sake of "sex" (sex site). Wrong! It's a platform which is designed for all kinds of people who come here for all kinds of different reasons, both for online and offline reasons; both for sexual and non-sexual reasons. The corporate page of this very site describes that. You: "If these accounts are real and not scammers, it seems it would be easy pickings lie and scam these women. Of course, that's assuming they're not trying scam naïve men that are desperate meet someone." That's just it....of course the vast majority (if not all) of those so-called "women" who are somehow contacting you, flirting with you and egging you on ARE FAKE/SCAMMERS and are NOT real women. Like I said, it's ONLY a business on this site to generate as much profit as possible from temptation/lies/scams/desperation. These aren't even real women, they are site generated fakes which are put in place to create that illusion...for profit. You: "I'm also getting flirted with by a coupe of the same women over and over again. After more than a couple of flirts I've sent a few of them messages asking if they were for real, wanted meet or why they didn't just message me instead of flirting with me. Only one responded and she turned out be a cam model trying get into her room and tip her or for a private show. The others never respond messages but keep sending me flirts. Strange behavior if you ask me." Nope, not strange at all. If you understand business and profit to be made, then this is perfectly in accord of what that recipe calls for. You maximize profit by baiting men into paying for something which is almost entirely a huge hoax. If you owned this business and dropped all moral issues, you'd want this site to operate exactly the same way. Maximize your profit by creating an illusion and then setting up your marketing strategies and operating platform to work as a machine for you. I'd imagine that the same repeat women who are flirting with you are fakes. In fact, I'm almost positive of that. Facts: Real women on this site aren't desperate, we don't generally go scouting for men, we almost never make the first moves by initiating contact with men, etc... . The only thing a real woman would generally contact a man for is for whatever reason(s) she'd self-benefit from him [and that's not sex]....(i.e. a gold digger, money, luxuries, tips, etc...). The fact that the one woman turned out to be a cam model baiting for tips is proof of that fact. There are also other gimmicks that have been used for women to self-benefit from over the years, such as the Ambassador Program that was around a while ago. That whole program was supposedly designed for members to better tailor their searches by finding better matches through a system of member similarities and member to member contact. Like all things, that was a failure when the females began abusing that system by using it to rack up points by irrelevantly contacting as many male members as they could, simply to earn free points. Males would then get baited by these women who could care less about them or their wants/needs. So no matter which side of the fence you're on around this site, being the business end or the user end, it's one enormous game for profit and self-gain, no matter what. You: "I make it pretty clear what I'm looking for on my profile. At least I think i do." Almost nobody cares! I'm not saying that sarcastically or from my own opinion/view. What I'm saying is that I applaud you for detailing your profile and taking the time to do it. I DO care! That's precisely why we have profiles and is 101 basic protocol that we should all be exercising.....yet next to nobody does that, so our profiles are rendered useless 99.999% of the time., since the society we live in has become beyond lazy and ignorant to the point where most people on here pay for memberships to use tools to their advantage, then disregard the very best tools of reading profiles to actually find success. At the same time, they waste the time, effort, points and kindness of women here in completely irrelevant contact the majority of the time because of this simple fact. So although you have a filled out profile (as we all should), fact of the matter is that next to nobody is reading it or even caring what you have to say on it. You: "I still get hot listed or flirted with from women all over the world looking for their soulmate, a serious relationship or marriage. Strange behavior indeed." I don't think it's really very strange. You're almost certainly getting flirted by paid fakes, scammers or some other unknown computer generated hits. I'll echo and embellish on something another member also commented on: And that is you belong to just one site out of THOUSANDS of other sister sites which are all grouped together as one main entity company, which is called the FFN (Friend Finder Network). Yes, I said THOUSANDS of sister sites that this FFN operate as a whole. Again, head on over to the corporate page of this site and it describes that the FFN owns and operates 49,000+ sites and that in it's entirety, there are 700+ million members worldwide!!! Meelp is merely just one of those 49.000+ sites (granted, it's probably one of the most popular site they own). So yes, the reason you possibly MAY be getting a few legitimate hits COULD be because someone on any one of those other 49,000+ sites may be chiming in who are seeking true love or real relationships, etc.... depending on the theme and targeted audience that any one of those other sites are primarily geared for. There seems to be no rhyme, reason or differentiation, as all of those sites seem to be lumped all together, enabling people from any sister site to chime in to other members on completely other sister sites within the FFN. So when it all comes down to it, who really knows any of these answers.... We all speculate and theorize. Are paid fakes or scammers chiming in to you? Are they legitimately real women from this site chiming in (doubtful, but there's a 0.000001% chance)? Are real women on other sites chiming in (again, very doubtful, but a bit more realistic if it's from a legit dating/love/romance/religious based sister site)? Are fakes/scammers on sister sites even chiming in? Are you dealing with just an average dude pretending to be female (i.e. catfish)? Are you dealing with computer programs which are sending out intentional blips of false notification hits to men across all of these sites as baiting techniques to stir up false hope and temptation to men for the sake of business and profit? I mean the questions seem never-ending as the variables of odds, nonsense, gimmicks, lies and scams have taken such a toll on the site and overall in society as a whole, that nobody can trust anyone for any reason when it comes to people online who seek others to meet with. The irony I find in it is that these sites are supposedly intended to unite people, yet when it comes down to it, it does everything contrary to uniting it's members. Of course that's by pure and simple design. Your existence here = profit. Success = accounts closed and a lack of profit. The site understands this simple psychology and uses it to their advantage to manipulate the paying member. Members aren't expected to find success and meet others. We're just meant to remain status quo endlessly in a state of hope, as most members choose to remain enslaved here by paying and tipping on a site which has almost no real women (who meet) and which has almost no potential whatsoever. And I can go on and on and in topic after topic and withing sub-categories which break down each and every main topic of all of the hundreds of things that are all wrong around here and in society which are the reasons that almost nobody can or will chat, meet, have sex, get along, etc etc etc.... But overall, the system of money, greed and profit has been so carefully designed and perfected over the years, that the entire site no longer works for the average person who comes here seeking simple meets. It only now serves as a money generating machine. There is almost nothing going for a person to person interaction....in fact, it almost can't, due to all of the site's barricades, restrictions, limitations and hoops to jump through which is put on it's members. Only way to get around those barricades is to pay....then once paid, one finds himself discouraged and frustrated that he later realizes he's been scammed, tricked, or hopelessly living on a site that is nothing more than a sausage festival of the ratio imbalanced genders of thousands of idiotic, rude, unintelligent and horny men who are all after one individual female here.....and not one of those men can even distinguish if that female is in fact even real and legitimate to begin with, much less successfully grab her attention, chat, have her take interest in you, be on the same page about things, be local enough, meet up, etc etc.... To go through the cycle of odds and understand them, would leave a man defeated by the overwhelming odds that are against him in his simple quest. You'd have more luck at a local bar in a single evening for several hours than most men would have here in five or ten years. Reality is a bitch, I know. And its not some wonderland from a woman's perspective, either. Sure, we have the pick of the litter...but that litter is nothing any of us to ever boast about. The site used to be decent years ago and had potential. Those were the good old days. So hang in there and do some research. There are a handful of actual real women on here, but that's always a challenge to catch. Most women who are seeking men to meet with are very selective, plus we're always up against an entire army of men who overwhelm and bombard us with offers, which are impossible to ever realistically fulfill. Your search will take a LOT of time, a LOT of patience and a LOT of effort and dedication! You'll need to do a lot of weeding to find what you're seeking. It's never impossible, just extremely tiring and challenging! I actually think you have a benefit of the doubt, being that you're willing to fill out your profile and by the fact that you're here posting blogs, allowing women to chime in with their feedback/help/opinions/facts and that you can take all of this in to help better your understanding and your overall odds to the best possible level that you can, straight from the source by the women who actually exist here and who have a lot of history here.
