Aluminum Can Shortage
Aluminum Can Shortage Um.... Wait... What?!? It appears there is a new shortage on the horizon for Northern Michigan. Fantastic... Not only are we brawling over toilet paper, we can't with cash unless we have exact change, but we are now faced with a shortage of aluminum cans as a result of COVID related consumption and inability recycle during the shut down. Looks like it's glass bottled beer for from here on out... That is, until there's a shortage of glass, created by the aluminum can shortage. ![]() |

It's always something I hear they are running out of bras and underwear hmm nice touch Etham - "Running Out" Don't have the time to Wait for a breakthrough I'm tired of losing patience with you It's a second of pain we've been through, oh no Out of time, out of breathe Out of space Out of words, out of things I can say Out of hope, yeah, 'cause you never change Once again you walk in And I'm running out Out of places to hide in my head Out of ways to forgive what you said It's far and I've got no defense Once again you walk in And I'm running out And I'm running out

I personally prefer bottled beer..... but all this is so ridiculous any more

I wonder how these shortages occur. They can recycle the cans... Unless people are returning them because of covid. Can you imagine having a hord of cans like that? I used to pay for weekend beer drinking by cashing in a ton of cans that I would bring from out of state.

i can't recall which post we were discussing croutons on but the answer applies to this post as well. samms/ costcco is your friend! i am eating so many croutons that a bag at walmartt is only two servings at 2.00 a bag. it's getting to be pricy. so i saw the mammoth bag at samms and its not bad! SHERMAN usually gets a 2LTR of coke at walmartt. he got the samms packed 35 cans this weekend. i brought it into the house. oy. it was heavy!

I don't like cans anyways so I guess it wouldn't bother me except that it would mean the can people would be migrating to the bottles and that might mean a shortage there. ![]()

Is this just a Michigan thing? I was unaware of any can shortages elsewhere. I can't imagine why recycling had to stop due to COVID, unless those working in those facilities all tested positive, maybe.
| ||
|
That's interesting because here, in the mid-Atlantic, more and more breweries are moving to cans... my local store's canned craft beer section has grown to be almost as large as the bottle section! Now I'm wondering if we're next to see a shortage.

Let’s hope this whole thing ends soon and we can go back to normal

Well there goes the old adage...She's got Nice Cans eh??? ![]()

Should be resolved soon, thought they now accepting recycling?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As yet we haven't experienced a can shortage, although I have to admit that certain beers are in short supply, can shortage or increased consumption? Have a good day, and stay safe ![]()

I knew about this. I googled about Fresca and found it's only available in liter bottles because of the can shortage.
