rambling of a disjointed mind

Willow weep for me
This phrase was on my lips this morning. I often wake trailing a line from a song. My room was too warm, covers kicked off.

The willows are showing the first shimmer of green, the first trees to promise winter is over. the sky is still light at 7PM, flying down the hill on bicycles in t shirts.

Less than 10 days ago the streets were covered with a piles of snow. Dark would have fallen by now. I live where I live for this. To see the world come alive, grow, wither every year. To remind me of what’s possible, that nothing is forever. that the hardest things we have to do, endure, witness are finite.

I think of my . His life is played out in minutes. the minutes become hours, become days, become weeks. the most awful thing to bear, if you bear it for five minutes, you can bear it for five more minutes. And then another five. That’s just the truth of it.

Time is altered only by your use of it
.
When I was learning to meditate, the hour given to its practice seemed endlessly long, almost a torture. Now I can sit for hours in meditation without feeling the passage of time, refreshed instead of creaky. A weekend retreat passes in the blink of an eye. Like being lost in a book, if you can remember how that felt as a …it’s never felt quite the same since.

You know the world Louis Armstrong sang into being… lord he had the saddest eyes, praying for a world that didn’t exist to exist….how many years ago? I ask myself, did I do anything, anything at all other than bide my time?

Weeping willow tree
Weep in sympathy
Bend your branches down along the ground and cover me
When the shadows fall, hear me willow and weep for me

You cannot conceive the many without the one.

These days I pretty much feel like all I'm doing is biding my time.

nods, I think when we're flying solo, and our children are gone, it often feels like that. I know we can fill time but it's not what either you or I are talking about is it?

I do not think your mind is a disjointed one. In fact, the opposite. I do not know you, but only from what I can guess, from what I only recently started reading. We all have our weeping hour every now and then. But then we catch the view of a sunrise over the horizon and gain strength for the next weeping hour.

there is delight, and poetry, and tragedy, in your words.....and hope, as Winter fades, as sorrow drifts, as Spring revives, as the willow weeps for why you in heart weep, as the day grows bright, the hours longer with Sun...there is hope, and tragedy, and laughter......and all is Life.

I still enjoy getting lost in a book.
It takes me away to other places. . They're not always better places, but always more interesting.
I'm sorry to hear of your sadness. . Hopefully it'll pass.

spring is a season that doesn't suit me well. and all things pass, some just take more time than others, eh?

I've never tried meditation... now that you've likened it to being lost in a book tho, it has a new appeal.

Hugs to you wicked e, I get where you're coming from.

Hmm I love my 4 seasons where I live and time is always feeting.

The older I get the faster it seems to go. Kind of like sands in an hour glass as less time is left the faster it passes you by.

Make the most of it!

This is one of the things you are never taught as a child. And in this day and age, everyone wants instant gratification. There doesn't seem to be a "place" to just be and let things flow along until they are "done", no place to just "feel". I think this is a beautiful expression you have created and I feel it intensely. Thank You

I think a disjointed mind is the best one, otherwise we may just as well be programmed robots!

Willow weep for me is so gorgeous.

Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale
Her infinite variety. Other women cloy
The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry
Where most she satisfies. For vilest things
Become themselves in her, that the holy priests
Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra

I, on the other hand, have written both posts and comments while quite drunk. Sometimes it even shows.

There are worse ways to live than by biding your time, I reckon, but if you manage to banish the time like you do in meditation, you lose the shackle of time. My hikes with Gracie have been a walking meditation.

This is a lovely post, wicked.
